Society of Illustrators gold medal winner, Jeffrey Smith, along with Wynton Marsalis’ favorite Illustrator, Paul Rogers, take you on a journey of Illustrative storytelling through Los Angeles Chinatown haunts, with a model in tow to conjure up scenes made famous via the silver screen. Transportation provided. Participants should bring their own sketchbook and materials.

Instead let Art Center’s President Dr. Lorne Buchman along with Kit Hinrichs, Art Center Alum and Trustee, and other renowned and distinguished Alumni, Faculty and Students blow your minds instead. The gathering is at the Judy Slasky Memorial Rooftop Garden atop architect Kevin Daly’s stunningly redeveloped 100,000 square-foot building in downtown Pasadena. Enjoy the sunset. Watch the moonrise. Relax with a fine cocktail and light refreshments. When not nibbling, or schmoozing, view the award-winning Art Center Illustrations on display.

Picture Mechanics Exhibition
