You are invited to apply for Motion Commotion at ICON13 The Illustration Conference in Baltimore, Maryland. Apply by March 18, 2026.
Motion Commotion is a curated screening of animation and motion shorts. The screening will take place on Wednesday, July 15 at The Parkway Theater in Baltimore.
ICON13 attendees and non-attendees are welcome to submit motion/animation projects for consideration. Artists who create experimental animation, narratives, motion graphics, and looped animation shorts are encouraged to apply.
The application is free. Video files and GIFs are accepted. Projects must be 5 minutes or under to be considered. Excerpts from longer films are acceptable, but should be trimmed to less than 5 minutes. The final motion reel will be projected at HD resolution: 1920 x 1080. Projects that screen at a different aspect ratio or standard definition will be letterboxed—black bars will be placed on either side or top/bottom to accommodate the HD format. For short films with credit sequences, please trim credits to 20 seconds or less.
